Scott G2 Fly Rods -- An instant classic

My first Scott G series rod is over 25 years old and still gets used fairly regularly. At the time I acquired it, it was the gold standard in fly rods by a lot of anglers' thinking. By today's standards, it's a bit heavy and somewhat slow. Long in the tooth perhaps, yet still a model that has endured for years. These are rods that rarely get sold or traded by their owners. Then, in 2005 Scott shocked a lot of their loyalists by replacing the venerable G series rods with the new G2 series. But as soon as diehard Scott fans began casting the new G2's, their fears evaporated.
