There are a lot of people whose emotional attachment to feral horses prevents their intelligent engagement with the need to manage the ecosystems in which the horses live. I know of no one who feels similarly about feral hogs. Learning how to counter the emotional draw of some animals seems to me to present one of the larger barriers to intelligent management of wildlife and natural places as our world effectively shrinks.
